Troops 579 and 8579
Kirkland, Washington
Scouting BSA for boys and girls
We serve youth ages 11-17, offering outdoor adventure, leadership training, and service to our community.
Our troops, 579 for boys and 8579 for girls, meet side-by-side and work together on outings and projects. Each troop has its own leadership structure, ensuring that leadership opportunities are shared evenly among our Scouts. We welcome youth of all genders and orientations, as we believe that every kid can be a Scout.
Both troops meet at Kamiakin Middle School in the Kingsgate neighborhood of Kirkland, but we encourage youth from all over our area to come be a part of our adventure! Our current group of Scouts include middle and high schoolers from across the Eastside, including Kirkland, Bellevue, Kenmore, Woodinville, and Sammamish.
We meet at 7pm every Monday night while school is in session in the cafeteria of Kamiakin Middle School (unless otherwise noted). Come see what we do!

Christmas Evergreens Fundraiser
Please give your support to BSA Troops 579 and 8579 and enjoy beautiful holiday evergreens!
This fundraiser helps the troop pay for camps, equipment, fun outings, uniforms, patches, etc.
Scouting is a great way for both boys and girls to learn valuable life skills and builds a desire to be a better citizen through community, family and church service.
